Been entrusted with a family friend's rifle. The rifle was originally bought by her father (who lived to be 101 years old), who passed it down to his son-in-law around 1975-ish, as they were the only relatives on the land at that time. He died early last year and she wanted somebody to have his rifle that would appreciate it, and most importantly, return it to the family if any relative decides they would like to have it. So, not directly related to the family here, but they have known each other forever and there is some connection that makes it worth hanging onto in my book.
Just had a close look and test-fired it and it looks like a nice well looked after little rifle. Shooting about 120mm high at 20m with CCI Standard so I'm guessing he only used very subsonic ammo around the farm.
The rifle bag looks almost as old as the rifle. I Googled Hedley's Sporting Goods Victoria and they seem to have been a large manufacturer of a lot of different things.
Extractor is a strange setup and is not 100% reliable just yet.
