Latest 22 - NRA Match

[Had a chance to purchase a Savage Model 19, advertised as an NRA Match rifle and so it looked in the pics, so money was paid and rifle acquired. When I got to lay hands on it, lo and behold no "NRA Match Rifle" stamped on the action, and the smaller rectangular ejection port of the earlier "pre-NRA' rifles used by the American Dewar Team at Caldwell N.J. Unfortunately for Savage the same year, 1919, saw some members of that team given experimental Winchesters, which later became the famous Winchester Model 52. Nevertheless Savage went on to produce this rifle in conjunction with the NRA from August 1919 until 1933 when the stock was shortened and a wide beaver tail fore-end adopted as well as the magazine changed. This, a much rarer version than the NRA stamped rifles will be mine until I cark it.attachment=0]Savage 19 NRA Match 001.JPG[/attachmentattachment=0]Savage 19 NRA Match 002.JPG[]attachment=0]Savage 19 NRA Match 003.JPG[ Note the windage adjustment by swivelling the whole sight around.

Timber looks immaculate
At what point does lack of maintenance become patina?
