What pest animals are there likely to be in this area?

Varminting and vertebrate pest control. Small game, hunting feral goats, foxes, dogs, cats, rabbits etc.

What pest animals are there likely to be in this area?

Anyone have any experience on what pest animals there is likely to be in the northern and western areas of the map? Is it known for one particular species rather than another? The area has copped a lot of rainlately as well, some road closures. Thanks in advance.

Private property hunting only in Qld, the property owners would be the best people to ask about what is around.

Ya can’t hunt in national parks in Queensland either
Poaching and trespassing by yahoo shooters is the main reason it’s so hard to get onto a property these days
Yes, dogs are a problem in this part of the country as well

Agreed. We often camp around there when heading up north. And on the way home so the girls can visit local attractions. The forests and even the beaches at night theres heaps of dingos and wild dogs. I’ve had packs wild dogs around beerwah try and draw our own dogs out of camp. They’re very smart and even when you know they’re close they won’t show themselves. Don’t know what the solution is if they won’t allow hunting but they are locally hated and real cause for concern and you can’t even let of a warning shot.
If canvassing properties wild dogs would be what farmers wanted gone.
Pigs are not unknown in that region if inland is dry, but highly prized property access and they get cleaned up pretty quickly if they venture in.
You’d need dogs with good noses to pull them out of forests, but again that’s not allowed. What is wrong with you Queensland.

I gather Victoria is now the only state that allows a significant amount of hunting on public land. (There might be a few wxceptions)

Does my head in. Dogs, pigs, foxes, rabbits etc all breading up on public land, destroying native forna and flora. Government does SFA about it. Yet we could be providing a free service.

There’s pigs, deer, dogs, foxes, hares etc in many of those areas BUT using any firearm, especially a centrefire would be dodgy. Lot of people 4x4ing, camping and you’d be breaking the law unless you’re on private land.
It can, however, be quite a “fruitful” area and there’s a few spots on that map that I have legally helped businesses cull vermin and a number of private properties who’ve had deer/dog and pig issues that have needed sorting.
Close to main large populations though and muppets are everywhere these days. Not saying don’t have a crack but you’d prolly have more success further west/nw if you don’t know anyone.
