Does it approximately follow the bullet's trajectory out to 150m or whatever it goes up to?
The JW25A is an aesthetic replica of the military ramp sight (as used on the original 1945 Brno KKW), but the ramp is basically level, so adjusting it from 25m to 200m makes no difference. It's _roughly_ zeroed at 50m regardless of the ramp position.
Oldbloke wrote:To be honest NFI. But the sight does rise as you would expect. I have never used the open sights.
Yours looks like it's missing the V. ?

I've also seen the Model 1 and Model 5 in lesser numbers on the used market, but can anyone tell me if their differing features make a lot of difference in practice?

I don't believe there's anything missing from it.
Yours looks like it's short enough and has enough curve in the ramp that it would raise the notch very well.
bigpete wrote:Not sure why you think it needs a curve to the ramp. As the slide goes forward it more than amply lifts the sights. Its been years since I removed mine out of stupidity, but from memory they worked fine

Nice rifle there OB.

Blah, blah, blah. I think the seller ripped me off.

They are hunting rifles, not PRS comp guns. Some dont like the aesthetics of the Brnos because of the higher scope mount but IMO the bolt lift doesn't affect the accuracy or utility of the rifle.
JohnV wrote:Same here , It's never affected me in any negative way . When the fox goes down from a head shot at 90 meters who gives a sh*t about bolt lift height . A 1957 model 2 would be a better one than my 2E . My Brother-in-law had a Model 1 and it shot better than mine . I tried to buy it a few times but he would not sell it .
