I did use a folding picnic table with folding seats down two sides.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liokXBEoX_IIt was perfectly adequate but you do need to be aware that you are connected to the table, I prefer a separate seat, a milk crate is good. The top of it was just masonite so it didn't last long in the weather but I kept using for a long while with holes through the top. It had the advantage of being quite compact when folded and very, very light, but not sturdy or long-lasting.
Mostly I just go prone and shoot off a bipod or bag but I've also built some sturdier benches using yellow-tongue flooring, this is nicer when the ground is really swampy.
