WA Police. It's OK to publish where we live.

Can't find the original thread.
Remember when a map of Perth was published with bullet holes showing shooters addresses. Well seems it's just fine and dandy for WA Police to give that info to news papers to print. FMD

Right o
So they probably wouldn't have a problem with me publicly posting a home address list of every WA police officer then

I have already prepared my response to their outrage.

As per usual with the NSC, completely one-sided biased propaganda. They don't even give the original decision letter just the follow up response letter that addresses the further information that they supplied after that fact and which again they don't publish any details as to what that was about. Which going on the response was the NSC just reiterating there concerns.

But fools just swallow the propaganda by the NSC.

I actually don't care what anyone thinks, nor what the argument is.

It was WRONG for the WA police to release that information knowing it was likely to be published.

It was completely contry to common sense. They should be held to account.

The WA police would be the first to squeal like stuck pigs if police addresses, or even an appoximation of their addresses was published.

But did they? I have seen no proof off it beyond NSC claims which they have supplied no evidence to support.

A couple of different views seem to point to Papalia as the culprit although one says "police prepared the map for release"

"WA Police Commissioner Chris Dawson has also told 6PR Breakfast that police were not responsible for releasing the gun ownership maps that were shown yesterday.

He confirmed to host Gareth Parker that, at the moment, there were no requirements for a person to be trained in the safe handling of guns, but that is one of the recommendations he would like to see introduced in the overhaul of the WA firearms laws flagged on Tuesday."

“You’d have to check with the Police Minister [Paul Papalia],” the Commissioner said in regards to who released the locations of gun owners across Perth.

Sooo, what would be the likely possibilities?

My thoughts.

1. The commissioner, Dawson gave it to the media.

2. The minister papalia gave it to the media. Why on earth he would even have that data in the first place is beyond me.

3. The police register was hacked by the media, or the media paid for it from a hacker.

4. A register employee gave or sold it to the media.

5. OR more worryingly Dawson and Papalia jointly released the data to the media for political reasons. Knowing it could possibly result in more thefts and home invasions on LAFOs homes. Although either could have released it for that reason on their own.

6. Someone who had access to the data is utterly stupid.

Scare the average punter into thinking they're surrounded by guns in preparation for further persecution of lafo.

Politicians love a scare campaign, cops would LOVE to be the only ones with firearms and Westralia is the perfect fascist wonderland for this to happen.

It's just further proof that our firearms registry system does nothing for public safety, it only provides a comprehensive shopping list for criminals and a trading token for the corrupt.

How many crimes has the Registry solved?

It looks to me like it's only helping criminals.
