I had a workmate back in the late seventies that had an experience that put yours to shame.
We both lived in Queanbeyan and worked in Canberra.
It was only a short drive between the two,,,, but it was one of those roads that you certainly didn't leave a vehicle on overnight.
Old Mate got halfway this particular morning and copped a puncture. But when he got the spare out, found it too had no pressure.
So he hitched a ride with the spare back into town to pump it up at the servo across the road from his house.
That done, he got his wife to drive him back out to his car.
She parked behind his car and sat waiting while he changed the wheel just in case something else went wrong.
He was about to finish when another car pulled up in front, and two fellas got out,,,,,, walked to his car,,, leaned in through the window and popped the bonnet.
As the other guy lifted the bonnet,, my mate said to em "What are you doing mate ?"
The guy replied and said,,, "Fair enough mate,,,, you can have the wheels, we just want the battery."
Cheeky buggers.
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
And,,,,It's been proven,,,,, the most trustworthy females in my entire life were all canines.
