Not good when one person owns that many, National action is required to bring all firearm owners up to similar levels.

I wholeheartedly agree, good enough for one, good enough for all!

Now I would like to ask the retard ****** how many crimes has this man committed that we have to restrict his firearms number .
As far as I'm concerned no hard left leaning organisation should have access to any figures on firearms ownership whether they're in politics or not

Yeah I can’t see a problem with someone owning that many provided they are properly secured and used for their intended purpose.
That person is far less of a concern than some crazy who illegally owns just the one.

Basically communists like this green senator just want all your stuff. Doesn't matter how responsible you are with it, they just want it because they are angry, nasty people with discontent in their life.

So the shooters union ended up lodging a formal complaint about the story.

It's actually the media that's screwing us most. They publish propaganda/disinformation about us all the time. And its just to increase their profits. Then the public and politicians have it in for us.

They need to be screwed big time IMO.

We need the media in a democracy. But reporting needs to be balanced.

I like the idea but is it a breach to publish a politician's views, regardless of how loony they are? They didn't write the story out of the either did they? I agree about the choice of photo and the headline.

It is not the publishing of the ratbag slime-Green garbage that is at issue, this is fair reporting, but that such an article has no balance by the reporter, did he contact any firearms organization for comment? The photo is clearly provocative and false, and many of Shoe-in-the-mouths statements are clearly wrong and a balanced report should have pointed them out or allowed comment from other stakeholders, perhaps a politician like Brigit McKenzie. I also feel the numbers quoted are not that accurate, I know of larger collections.

If there ever was a good ole days of actual reporting where a "reporter" actually went out, talked to people, compiled the facts and put it all out there for everyone to see and make up their mind, well those days are long gone for the most part. Any "reporter" these days pretty much has to exist outside of the big media conglomerates and be crowd funded. It's all "journalism" these days in the big media and you tow the line for your masters in the government and conglomerate or else.

This is why gun owners have to be organized politically at state and federal levels plus invest in PR. Here in the US we have the GOA, the NRA and other organizations and we have to have them or else we're done.

Clearly the photo and headline is just designed "panic porn" to trigger emotional people. Now here in the USA, that is just one part of my wall, but in Australia it's likely those big collectors just have a bunch of old guns and bolt rifles, probably a lot of them might not even be capable of safely shooting or have ammunition for them and they are just "wall hangers" as we would call them or "curio and relics".

The funny ironic thing is that all the bike gangs in Australia are fully tooled up with full auto machine guns and it was said by the AFP a few years ago some might even have anti tank weapons or explosives. No panic about that though.
