DIY finger grooves

Feels much better than before
Don’t know why modern rifles don’t have this feature
Really like it so I cut the finger grooves by myself

Looks good. Did you use a router or dremel or by hand?

Peter

Dremel cut the groove sanding by hand to make the lines straight then dremel to fine trim if needed
Cost me 2 hours from begin to finish

I've got a stupid question....

Why do you need a "Finger Groove"...???

I'd rather sensible answers please.

I have some rifles have finger grooves and some don’t
I like the feeling to grab and hold the rifle with finger grooves and I also what to try if I can do it by hand with simply tools…
Checking is another option to improve handling but I don’t have tools and I don’t think I can do it properly
This rifle really need some thing to improve the handling when carry and aim also I want it a little bit lighter even it’s just a tiny bit I’ll drill a hole on the bolt handle ball as well to get rid of another few grams of weight

Another reason is this rifle I can do some stupid modifications because it is dirt cheap and not a original mil surplus unlike most of my others

I think they're mainly useful when it's wet and cold and you're wearing thick gloves.

Yes the rifles with it in my collection such as the K31 and M39 M44 are mainly used in cold area, only exception is FR8
