Surely one of them should have been equipped with a bean bag shotty.
Easy to judge from the safety of our distance though, eh?
I saw footage that sounded, as you intimated, like a fusillade, probably a bit too much testosterone running

Excellent point, perhaps the spin doctors are hard at work in their little burrows, trying to get the "optics" right

One thing that will never come out of this is an admission that our strict firearms laws do not work, they'll claim they aren't strict enough.

Its gone from a 'Glock Semi-automatic Pistol' to -
"Police said Alexander Pinnock was armed with what appeared to be a firearm"
And -
"We are confident that the men and women of the NSW Police Force acted to the best of their ability,"

Just imagine the outcry if he was a brumby!

So it's possible he was holding a banana or pointing his finger like a gun.

However licenses came out in TAS in 1990(same year as QLD) and Martin did not have one. So if the narrative the media tells us is true they fail to mention that he was illegally in possession of the firearms.

1991 licences were enacted in Tasmania.
1996 port Arthur massacre.
Martin did not have a licence and the LRD that sold him the ar15, Terry Hill owner of Guns and Ammo, knew well that Martin wasn’t licenced, but recognised him as the simpleton child who was. often in the shop browsing around after school.
So he knew Martin was dumb as s**t and he had a lot of money to flash around , so ripped him off blind.

I’m not aware of any media narrative that’s says otherwise.

Not correct. Bill Drysdale a farmer handed in the Colt SP1 carbine in 1987 when communist John Cain stole the guns. It was marked as destroyed but used by Victorian police SOG for training. In 1994 it was sold by the police on to a Bendigo gun dealer and was to be sent overseas for sale. However somehow it ended up in Tasmania. Terry Hill never admitted to selling Martin the Rifle. He was given immunity from prosecution and he still did not admit to selling the rifle to Martin so I believe him.
The reason there are so many so called "conspiracies" around Port Arthur is because they refused to do a royal commission and sealed the records for 25 years. Then when that was to expire they extended it for another 75 years. So the records are sealed for 100 years and no royal commission to answer the at least 50 questions that need answering. The biggest event in Australian history and no answers.
The Dunblane shooting in the UK records are sealed for 100 years too. Because the police new he was a pedophile but still gave him his licence because he was connected to the Labour party.
Sealing records(not to mention disarmament)is the worst thing a government can do because it creates mistrust.
