Howa safety being pushed back by inletting on new stock

Looking for some advice.

My Howa 1500 is a pre HACT trigger Howa purchased new in 2010.

I recently purchased a Stocky's Howa Model 1500 Carbon Fibre Stock. While installing the barrelled action I checked to ensure that the action cycles, safety would engage and the trigger would fire. Trigger will not fire - no movement.

Looks like my older Howa 1500 (Pre HACT trigger) safety rubs on the stock inletting pushing the safety mechanism back a little consequently preventing the trigger from engaging.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Am seeking some help as to how to fix this?

Picture below where I used a highlighter on the trigger mechanism to see where it was rubbing against the stock.

Is the solution to simply sand away the inletting until the safety is no longer pushed back?
I have been told that some stocks require minor modification, but being carbon fibre, am not sure if I should return it.

I modify anything and everything to suit myself. I have been doin this all my life. Rarely am I satisfied with whatever anyone else is useing. Jorge want things unique or different. I would b carving into that stock as fast as I could find my die grinder

If it was specifically stated that it would fit, and doesn't I'd be returning it.

It would be one thing if you bought a blank with the expectation of having to do some modification depending on the model of your particular rifle. e.g. action length, barrel diameter etc.

It's hard to say just looking at the picture as I'm not really familiar with the particular stock/action, but my other thought is what's the impact of removing the required material. It is likely to create a weak(er) point, some flex in the stock, etc.

Being carbon fibre, I don't imagine it was cheap. I'd want it to fit from the get go.

Thanks for the feedback :)
I did finish up taking my time and sanding it back a little at a time till the safety functioned. Looks like the newer HACT trigger has a different safety mechanism and my old 2010 Howa needs a bit more space.

Looks like my Howa 1500 (purchased in 2010) was a bit different to the current Howa 1500 offerings and the HACT trigger. Eventually got my barrelled action to fit with the safety working correctly.
