Also would consider something found in the supermarket full of drink I can drain and use, as usually they are lighter than proper water bottles and still pretty tough. A 2L milk bottle is just a bit too fat to work

Screw the water... that stuff is liquid gold.
Suddenly I'm thirty

mickb wrote:Thanks for the replies fellas. I thought I had maybe asked a weird question but looks like a lot of hunters think about this stuff. I ended up spending the money on a cheapo oztrail level CamelBak. Never been a huge fan of drinking bladders, I've already detached the long cumbersome drinking hose and will just use it as a regular bladder. Will see how it goes
mickb wrote:Yeah that's why I got rid of the hose and just capped it off at the bladder. To be honest I've always wondered at the real need to have this drinking hose almost at your face. I remember when these things got popular in the army and I likened it to a horse with a feed bag strapped to its face lol.

Motorbike riding I know nothing about, only sat on on once when I was 14 so wont naysay it for that purpose. Or anyone elses purpose, whatever works for the individual.
