WA REVIEW & PETITION - Let's get this done

Post by Heisenburger » 28 Jun 2025, 10:47 pm

G'day fellas,

As we're all probably aware, the Firearms Act 2024 has been referred to the Standing Committee on Legislation for a review. We've got until the 4th of July to enter a submission, we're in the final stretch. I encourage each and every one of you to write in a submission, and to get all of your friends and family to do the same, full of key issues and why they're a bad idea like the quantity limits on the new property letters creating an artifical scarcity, quantity limits on firearms, storage requirements, lever release ban, arbitrary calibre limits, etc etc. Anything that has affected you and people you know. I recommend heavily referencing the impact the Firearms Act 2024 will have on conservation efforts as the greens surprisingly enough helped get the review across the line.

I also encourage you to sign the new e-petition, and get everyone you know to sign it, that aims to halt the Firearms Act 2024 during the review period, and enact an audit.

Let's absolutely smash the last e-petition, and make sure our voices are heard in thunderous numbers through the submissions. Never give up hope!

Couldn't agree more mate, now is not the time to give up, but to band together as one. If we don't stand up now, then who will?

I myself will absolutely lose my licence due to the property letters being cancelled, and the artificial scarcity of the new hunting permissions capped at 5-15 per property (sometimes even less) meaning that I just won't be able to obtain one. I can only pray a miracle happens.

People say these things are a waste of time and they never listen anyway.

Dose’nt matter. You keep speaking until you are heard. We’re not going away.

Just keep going. Never give up.

We do have the numbers nation wide. We have a percentage of the population that is definitely significant enough now that we cannot be ignored.
But no one can be silent. Not anymore.

unfortunately the petition is for WA residents only, otherwise i'd be straight onto it . i believe senators can cross state lines on issues , maybe contact interstate senators who are firearm friendly for more support. just a thought .

I think i wrote a good one.

But I neglected to mention my own relative background.

And probably something you should do as a prelude, so as to give it the best authenticity.
