Conflicted.

By their definition it’s just a long knife to start with. So how much stuff am I supposed to surrender.

And if I do, then what does that say about me. That I’m too dangerous an individual to have them.

So what does that say about me being fit and proper to own firearms.

It’s not good and it’s impossible to get any clarifications.

Also. I think it’s racist.

And sexist.

And like. I literally just purchased a big Wiltshire stay sharp for the wife.

Because she likes to chop up pumpkins.

Because she’s f***ing strange. Not right in the head that one.

But now I have to get it of her somehow, to take it to one of these disposal bins.

f***ing dumb living here sometimes. The things we bend over for.

Rant over.

Next question; what will be the next thing banned, which we will be obliged to (voluntarily ?) surrender.

Here's the thing.
My father was issued with a machete as part of his "service kit" while he was soldiering in the Pacific theatre of war (WW2). I now keep that now-prohibited item in my collection of militaria accoutrements and there's NO F***ING WAY that it's going to be surrendered because some numpty politician thinks that dealing with ethnic gangs is best served by penalising otherwise law-abiding citizens.

I will remain non-compliant.

By the way, Victoria.
How did an "evil black gun" that was surrendered, under amnesty, to police for destruction end up in Tasmania?

All that unpleasantness could have been avoided if cop shop back doors were banned.

Nein, it's 2030.
No civilian firearms not strictly managed under occupational requirements. And that totally being a proven need based on prior collected evidence. Tax data etc, proven lost production income, stock losses.

What is the like.. could own an skk or an slr.

I never owned an AR15. Not many in country back then. Relatively rare and very expensive. A few collectors might have had one.

No one importing them. No one wanted a 223 for pigs. Wouldn’t sell well in a market flooded with milsurp stuff for super cheap.

But legally there’s no reason you couldn’t own one then.

They’re not a bad rifle but they had a bad rep being a civilian version of an m16 post Vietnam war. People hated the m16 because in the jungle it was a piece of s**t.

I mean this is a time where Queensland didn’t require a pta. So you could literally just buy an skk in the mail with a free crate of ammo. Delivered to you door by Australia post. I know this because I did this when I was 18 years old.

Now that I’m all grown up I’m too incompetent to own a machete because there’s a high chance I might buy a few tins of shoe polish, join an ethnic gang and carve people up in shopping centres on my weekends. Apparently. :allegedly:

When we were kids we used to stay at friends of my parents in Stanthorpe. Uncle Jack has a few momentoes from his time as a commando in New Guinea. It wasn't until his funeral when I was a teen that I saw that he was one of the very few Z-Force commandos to survive the war. I saw a couple of patches that had their famous logo on them.
Anyway I got a Aus 1943 (I think) machete from his war stash put away, I will never stick it into some bin by the decree of some fat, overfed communist politician scum. It's well used but intact.

How the f*** the losers that call Victoria home could EVER let that state turn into the whole world's laughing stock. Pathetic that they complain about the sh*thole they let be created.

No but they tried to in 87 after Hoddle st.
It didn't get through the upper house,. Labor held power at the time.
They did introduce stricter regulations though.
As said, you needed a property letter.

Victorian Labor will now buy a whole new pallet of machetes from Bunnings, unpack and unbox them into the new machete bins. Invite the media to show Australia that their ideas are working with a bin full of new machetes. Communists think that every other person is as f***ing low IQ as they are.

i'm glad to see i'm not the only one who has similar opinions to you fellas . saw a news story the other day with vic police and the states comrade premier displaying flashy stylised chinese made machete's . what a success :sarcasm:
it's like these criminal groups will cease their activities and be good citizens because they can't get matchete's

the pic in your last post womble is from a long forgotten time , up to the late 70's i remember my grandfather watching the "black and white minstrels show" on the telly . the ABC no less . make sure you look after your "mammy" womble :D

christ , remember classic aussie "taking the p!ss humor" ? kingswood country , paul hogan show . the only thing i've seen in more recent times , at least in the last 20 years , was "seven periods with mr gormsby" out of en zed . some great old school politically incorrect humor . a member some years ago put up a link to a "best of" youtube of that show . some really funny sh!t :D

My Victorinox breaking down butchers knife has a longer blade than my Machete ?
So what constitutes a " Machete " exactly . Just add a clamped on handle to the the front of the machete blade and it's a draw knife .

Their definition isn’t very helpful.

I’m applying for an exemption for brush cutter blades. Fully automatic machete. I’m not holding my breath.

Hey Happy law abiding People of Victoria. I've got one of those Fiskars Brush Cutters that I use when out hunting / hiking. A blade with a hook end. Do I need to hand that in? Is this a machete? Are there any exemptions for these or do I have to apply? What are the chances?

From vic gov website  A machete is a large broad-bladed cutting knife.

https://www.vic.gov.au/machete-ban?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22809125406&gclid=Cj0KCQjw9JLHBhC-ARIsAK4PhcrwdxDfP0SBx6ZeMfoz-xPG_Iv1R9EBvVRx7EtVCnIuPR4CRX-PGmEaAmQQEALw_wcB

There you go. I’m sure that description will be most helpful.

Is it large
Is it broad
Is it a cutting knife.

If you answered yes to all three. Congratulations you now have a machete.
