Yeah, I need to check it out. Thought you might’ve had some ideas having the same ailment. Got to watch what I do these days

Respectfully, dude, you clown - YOUR BODY comes first, not your work. You can't help work if you go down mate.
If you did it at work, you will get Workcover and a real proper private surgeon.
If a part of your intestines is herniated and it has a large blood vessel in it - they are all over the intestines - and it gets pinched where it herniates between the gut muscles, it will wither, die and you will be walking around with a bag at best, at worst kick the bucket from infection - blood poisoning from a dead set of guts.
Get to a proper GP and get to the correct surgeon mate.

Hey, I'm a big bloke from a lifetime of lifting heavy things at work and play, but when you walk up I always get a shock how bloody big you are mate, you tower over me and I'm 6'2". You are a Hulk Hogan alright. Fuggin' look after your body mate. You come first.
And if you're not sure, you know where to come to ask for someone who will fix you better than new.

Weird things, those herniated gut problems, but I know nothing about the body's internals, and frankly don't want to.
I should, as I just had an ultrasound, as I promised my great young girl doctor that I would do it after all the other crap.
Minor prostate cancer stuff. A second MRI will show exactly what's going on there; blood tests can be all over the place with me for some reason.

Although she seemed determined to find some sort of cancer in me, she is the best doctor I have ever met, let alone had.
She even had no issue doing the scum govt's doctor letter trial thing to stop them taking my gun licence.
Being an old white Aussie male with a bad back, I was on their take-licence list- anyone who ticked the disability pension box and had no discrimination card to pull, I assume.

Back to good stuff, I have been considering the low neck shot, on a young meaty at 80ish meters, to be sure.
Not sure of exact shot placement yet but need to look into that.
There is a good chance of a spine hit that always does well.
Just not sure what happens if the spine/nervous system is not hit, and they have 4 legs working to get further.

Do they tend to drop rather than run? That is the question for me.
I did do a close-range high neck shot once; that was sure effective and instant.

I do higher neck shots. Or rather did. Those deer I shot in that story I wrote on Hunting the Bensback were neck shot. The shock right next to the spine drops them and the major blood vessels in the neck are ruptured and they bleed out. Need a soft nose that fragments quickly. Next time you shoot one , autopsy the neck and see where its all located.

thanks for the advice mate . i've been keeping a eye on it , got a scan about 6 weeks ago . one 5mm hole and 2 tiny pinholes , all around the edge of the belly button . hasn't changed in the last 8-9 months . doctors don't really want to touch it till me guts breaks through . been doing exercises to keep my abs and core strong rather than wrapping myself in cotton wool . still on the tools everyday , just careful about what i do . i saw a surgeon and he wasn't overly worried . reckons if i look after myself it might just stay that way for the rest of my life . as far as work goes, the company got sold and the new owner is a wanker . but i have loyalty to some workmates i've known for 30 years . i'm walking a fine line ATM . as i get closer to 60 i'll look into workcover even if it doesn't get worse. if the business lasts that long . new owner is full of himself and never been on the tools in my trade , he's making really dumb decisions cause he's the "king" sorry to digress ;) and my wrestling persona is "hulk bogan" cheers

My thoughts on a high neck shot were that it's like the head, always moving.

Lower neck could be a larger target, and more leeway.

The answer to that Fester, is to wait for the best shot.
Nothing keeps moving, unless the stalk has been stuffed up and then, it's off anyway..
I'm imagining my own method, and how, one way that works every time this is the situation, the best time to trip the trigger is when they put their head down to feed again.
Or when/if they stop and look up.
Because you are watching them through your scope, you have stalked in, and they are unaware of you, because you are a hunter.
And you are waiting for the right moment.
Using patience.
Perentie is an experienced, patient hunter, and my spirits are lifted knowing he has chipped in on this.
