Most of us who use shooting ranges would have met the odd Fudd RO.
They are the club committee men who have done their best to destroy shooting for normal blokes.
They only RO because they drove the volunteers away.
Some of the SSAA heads were prime examples when I came back into shooting.
Even they won't do so well out of this one, perhaps why they joined in the fight this time.
Maybe, under Tom Kenyon, they will head the right way, advocating for shooters and fighting politically.

Many of these old Fudds that are still shooting wouldn't think twice about throwing us under the bus for some cash for crap.
I really hope they get nothing, and it IS on the cards.

My USSR stamped 70's Baikal 12Gauge could bring me more cash from the 'steal back' than its worth but I have no intention of handing it in. Even if they offered my 10 times what its worth I'd hang on to it out of spite.

Others however I cannot speak for.

Well done mate, I wish there's more like you.
When someone pops up and skites how they got $$$ for some firearm that isn't worth much, they tell me all I need to know about them.
I don't reckon that's going to happen in NSW as the sit-to-p1ss dog Minns's bureaucrats have priced certain firearms as an insult... Imagine having a beautiful collection of $4-7K Sakos, or expensive factory real "tactical" rifles, and be offered $1000 each by these pieces of sh1t.

Wait, don't do it, is all I can say. F*ck Minns.
He will NEVER back down, he is a tiny d1cked little man and that's not what trash like him do, whereas real men admit they made a mistake under pressure or emotion and back down. But there will be an election soon, and One Nation will throw this dogs steal-back in the bin..

Die Judicii you are in Queensland so it costs you nothing to make with the big talk.

ButchDDG41 assuming you are licenced for both hunting and target shooting then the limit is 10.
If you have 10 or fewer then you won't get anything for handing something in. Probably not even a polite thank you.
How the hand-in works is that you hand in the firearm at a designated police station, the firearm is photographed and then supposedly destroyed. Afterwards somebody makes an assessment on how much you will be paid.
You won't have any say in the matter.
You won't get the advertised amount for something otherwise worth a couple of hundred dollars.
You won't get cash, you get a credit against some future State impost. You are giving the state a loan.
Is it surprising that politicians mislead those who will happily allow themselves to be mislead.
Our only hope is a change of Government at the next election. Preferably ON.
Even the bimbo from Vaucluse would be tolerable if she doesn't go changing her mind yet again.
Inform your non shooting and or anti gun friends that this so called buy back sets a precedent and could be applied to anything at the discretion of the government on passing legislation.
So you think you have "rights". Think again, you only have privileges that have been granted by legislation.

I can have 10, so 10 it will be. But I wont get rid of anything in any other way than selling to somebody else. My wife now has her licence and when the FAR finally get to approve her PTA for her 1st rifle, she will start her journey to having 10 as well.

So the doo gooders in charge of NSW that magically produced this wonderful omnibus bill that was rushed through after Christmas is going to send me broke buying up guns I otherwise wouldn't of had.

I can't the Labor getting voted back in next March and I think ON has a chance but only if the idiot Libs don't be pelicans with preferences.

Interestingly, my mate got a notification from his pistol club with an attachment letter from Pistol NSW, stating a strong recommendation not to participate in the buyback as there is no legal obligation to do so. Participation in the buyback would just provide photo opportunities where any surrendered firearms will be used as a political prop and to generate more misinformation and false rhetoric around us and our sport.

At present, this works for me.

The uniparty will all prefer One Nation last, nothing surer.

Premier Mince knows it was all wrong and simply his and Albo's diversion.
When he saw all the wives and kids' applications, he made a statement to try and get shooters to keep their heads down and go quietly. He said you will be right, as you can have 10, and your wife can have 10.

In other words, he knows it's a clusterf_k, but going ahead full steam as it will be his legacy.

Have a watch of the latest Topherfield, Elbo has got his latest huge como censorship legisletion in, that will be used in conjunction with the other E-Karen stuff to take out Pauline, and all the internet info spreaders that they don't like.
If they can pass it with their green friends, it comes into effect just before the federal election.
One Nation becomes a criminal party and is banned.
If Wong is the leader, she will push for dictatorship as quickly as Elbo.
She will be just as good a friend with the UN and whatever socialist leaders are still in office.
She will make the same friends of Austrailians talk.
Australia will sink just as fast as it is now.

Remember all their talk of how well we are doing, compared to other countries.
It was purely the lag as we are behind.
It even seems that other countries pulled their socks up, and we are now at the bottom.
Still our govt does nothing and plays like a UN toy.

The comment was neither rude nor a retort, it was an observation. As for honest and caring gimme a break who are you kidding?

I own close to 50 firearms, some very expensive and some of great value to me and I am faced with the dilemma of what and when to do anything.
The sensible thing to do is to wait for the state election in March but if Ho Chi Minns by some remote possibility is reelected then the risk is that he will be emboldened to further tighten the restrictions of the buy back. I and many others could end up with neither firearms nor appropriate buyback credits.

What is your 'honest and caring' advice to solve to that dilemma?

I never wanted a push-button shotty.
But I bought one.
Just to spite albo.
That means another PTA approved, another gun (of THAT type) in the hands of voters.

If anyone wants to buy one, brand new, unfired, let me know. :)

Believe me, If I had a magic wand, it would be working overtime to cure all these woes.
But I don't,,,,,,,,,,,,
So instead,, I asked the abovementioned question because I genuinely feel for and care about the plight that NSW LAFO's are enduring.
Which also "costs me nothing to do so."
And which, 99.99 % of NSW firearms owners would see that.

But you have carved yourself out to be only the 0.01 %

You are not Robinson Crusoe with your "close to 50 firearms" :violin:
There are many more in a far worse situation than yourself.
I know of one personally in particular, in NSW,, who has in excess of 150 in a collection.
