The father in-law has a pretty broad compliment including .22 (Brno Model 1) , .222, .223, 22-250 (the rifle in question), 22-250 AI, ,243, .25-06, .270, .308 and a couple of others I can't quite recall, but I know there's no .260 in there, so that may be a good idea, but we also tossed around the idea of a 7mm.
Any thoughts or opinions/experiences on the .260 or 7mm? Are they an economical item as far as reloading goes?
Either of them not worth entertaining the thought of?

These are sorted in rim size (there are many sizes out there) the one after 45HP may require a little releiveing of the bolt face...I have included pistol chamberings too, (you can / if you want!)
Look at:
308win
8x57 (yep, nothing wrong there, 308 - but a lot more of a good thing!!),
9.3x62,
smaller cal:
6.5x284Norma (lot of followers there)

I'd say my next small cal will be either a 243 or a quarterbore

with 130-140gr bullets it will outperform my 7-08 with 4gr less powder
