Your choice of pistol

Post by Prettybird » 21 Nov 2013, 10:37 am

Laws aside, if you could just stroll into your local gun shop and pick up a pistol of your choice, what's your pick?

I reckon I'd have to have one of these bad boys

Seems like a practical choice :D

If you want to scare off the Terminator robot or hunt elephants AND develop a substantial flinch, the first one wins by a mile.
For fun plinking and cheap shooting, hard to go past the Ruger.

I've put THOUSANDS through my 22/45 Ruger (basically the same beast with a different grip section) and they are great. Even won a few club events.

Waiting for it to wear out so I can but another.....................and waiting...................................and waiting.....................

The only reason I list this one is because I can't have it. And we always want what we can't have, :x

Revolvers with the under slung barrel definitely have that little 'something' to them.

There are not that many things that wouldn't look bad ass, whilst perched atop a box full of magnum rounds. :P

Out of curiosity, we are allowed .357 magnum right? I'm never entirely sure what they count as high/large calibre or indeed what the cut-off is.

My Dad has the Model 41. He also has a Hi Standard Victor and Colt Woodsman Match Target. They are also in my name because the way it works in New York is that if my Dad were to pass away (God forbid) the state would take his guns. So we have dual ownership legally but they are his.
That being said, I tend to get the tightest groups with the Colt. But that might be because my Dad has the grips custom fitted for his hands on the Victor and 41. They are awkward in my larger hands.
One cool thing with the Model 41 is that it comes with two barrels that you can swap out in seconds. The long one comes with a compensator. I’ll get pics sometime.

Yes, sorry.

I was referring more to pistols in general and the hoops/restrictions that go with them.

Not the .357 cartridge specifically.

I'm going to answer this question more seriously than my last post with the AK, which was more tongue in cheek.

The following pistols will be mine. It's just a matter of time and money, both of which are forth coming. There are others that I like of course, and may own someday. But the three below are all but locked in. The others are subject to my ever changing whim.

Ruger Single Six Convertible, Stainless.
