What Noslers are you using?
Partition or Accubond I guess?

I use the partition, have not tried the bonded bullet..friends like them though. These days I choose the all copper mono's for a animal like a bull elk, even a light bullet will penetrate and a light bullet is prefered because it must be driven fast. With the Barnes 129 gr lrx you can get 3200 fps fairly easily. This goes through shoulder bone (both) and of course vitals.THE Nosler partition is proven too.It is great to discuss this with you Aussies. What have you found?Seik wrote:tony m wrote:The .270 win is very good on elk and I use the very best bullets out there..Barnes, Nosler etc.

I believe the ab is a good bullet too.The bullet you choose is far more important than the caliber imo.How does the woodleigh perform?Bourt wrote:Haven't heard anyone say they don't like the Accubonds, they're good bullets.
Heard everyone say they don't like the price tag though
Where are you from wrenchman? The Sambar sound interesting to me too... They look like an elk type animal to me.Elk are tough around here..far tougher than our moose which is larger. The .270 win is plenty for either providing a quality bullet is used imowrenchman wrote:The white tail deer can run up to 300 in the north for a real good mature deer but the avg across the country is about 175 to 200 lbs
With the avg doe going about 130 to 150lbs.
