In my book there's not a bolt action rifle made that wouldn't benefit from a good bedding job!
If you are handy with hand tools, a PROPERLY sharp chisel will just slice nice little slivers off where you need to relieve. If not, a sharp blade, like a Stanely knife or scalpel, used perpendicular to the plastic surface, will scrape it back nice and gently. Do not use the knife to cut, use it as a side scraper.
All going well, you won't need to bed it but, you know, why not!?!
As Sungazer says, the stock definitely looks like it was meant to be floated.
