Doesn't your licence have the Genuine Reasons listed on it for which you are allowed.
In NSW mine has on the back...
"Genuine Reasons for holding this Licence.
AB - Rec Hunting / Vermin Control
ABC - Primary Production
Then...
AB - Target Shooting"
Target shooting was added afterwards when I started shooting in Registered National Competitions, otherwise I was not allowed to enter the competition.
That is not required to just go to a Range and spend a day, even if it's a Club Competition Target Shoot or just Sighting In...
My Category C also allows me to take my restricted firearms to adjoining properties, one of which I manage and it is also noted as part of my own land so his adjoining properties are also mine to shoot on with permission from the owners.
This is in NSW.....
When I had a quastion about any of this I rang my Firearms Registry, especially regarding the Cat C and adjoining properties.
