angry anderson passed away

dunno if any of you guys were into his music , or fans of "rose tatoo" , but iconic aussie angry anderson has passed away . i read a article and was surprised at what he was about . i knew he did a lot of youth work with troubled kids, but he also unsuccessfully ran for a seat with the nationals, and was involved in anti immigration/islamist groups years ago. another old school aussie passed

when i was in my teens , rose tattoo was a band i bought a few albums of . they had some very nationalistic/rebel songs , like "freedoms flame", "southern stars" that had verses about eurka stockade and the old school "proud to be aussie" sentiment that struck a chord with me . also songs that were anti establishment/guv'ment corruption like "magnum maid" . i think you'd like that one "we can't be beaten" was in a similar vein .

I heard an old interview on the local radio conversation hour yesterday coming back in the ute ( no other bloody radio stations here) done in 2007 and it was an insight into the bloke. He did a lot of youth work and wasn't at all enamoured to the left, I'm surprised the ABC gave him a platform.
Anyway, he will certainly be missed by those he helped, outside of his music.

yeah, it's quite refreshing to come across a musician or entertainer/actor who's not a lefty soft c@ck isn't it ? angry appears to be a fella from the school of hard knocks who kept his feet on the ground and gave back at a grass roots level . a lot of rose tatoo's music was popular with bikies and outlaw types , with a strong patriotic bent . i can still identify with some of these aspects if he was anything , he was proud to be australian . RIP

Liked his music, is attitude and his appearance.. Saw him a couple of times on the northern beaches here in Sydney.
