Thankfully, I reload all calibres that I shoot, but, pricing is also getting a bit silly. How can boxes of lead be considered dangerous cargo?
I recently visited the place that can't be named and the savings I achieved on some factory ammo and brass were extraordinary compared to my LGS. Also spent a huge amount on "bits & pieces" that my LGS missed out on. I want to support my LGS as much as possible, but...
I'm only using my LGS now if I want to purchase another rifle or handgun.

I'd recommend stocking up on all the components, saves the hassles when the US goes into meltdown again and the 204 can be hard to get components for at times so always a good idea to stock up on components even when you aren't short on em

And you wonder where the problem comes from?![]()
Having said that, shooting has been growing in popularity in the USA and here as a sport so demand has risen everywhere. Also the AUD/USD has not helped.

Call it what you will - all I know is I won't be one of the ones bitching next time they go to buy something only to find it's out of stock or gone up in price or discontinued

I think in future when someone asks the common question of whether to go for 204R or 223Rem.... there should be a reference to a guy once paid $105.90 for 40 Rounds!!! Thats a big LOL,
you could have bought a loading press, powder, brass and projjies and loaded 200 of the rounds!! OK maybe not ALL the gear and that many....
All right, ease up on nuke time....
Last time I bought ammo for the 223Rem, which is the wife's (apart from the 22s, I own nix smaller than 30cal), I thought I got taken, and it was 11.50 a pack!!! Another time I noticed the dealer was selling off his Norma ammo so I paid 26 a pack for 300WinMag !!! with premium Noslers (IIRC) !
You my friend got 'Cucumbered', just who is this co-op, co-opting with?

Oldbloke wrote:Son inlaw got one of these for about $190 + $45 for a 2 die set. A good start. Better gear around but u pay for it. I have a set of their dies and they seem ok.
At the prices u are paying it wouldnt take long to pay for its self and u get better ammo too.

Our $ is almost on par with N.Z and dropping to 0.7585 with the U.S overnight and falling. I've been to 4 different gun shops in the past week and the common theme seems to be less and less stock on shelves.
