Ammo was CCI 40gn maxi mag (

Normally very good ammo, it holds the tightest groups for the rifle. The CCI subsonic ammo I use for my .22lr is also normally very reliable.
my 22 misfires with the Winchester value pack, some times it just happens
nice looking goats there scotty87 but how the heck did you see them in that scub

we followed a stream through the scrub and emerged into a steeply tiered clearing backdropped by a sheer towering cliff face, the ground was strewn with large boulders and thick grasses which hid underground streams so you had to watch your footing. I spied a decent billy at the top right sitting in the shade of a tree and tried to get the missus on to him, he was about 250 yrds away, we moved up a few boulders to try and get him in the sights but he casually stood up and walked out of view.
The missus spotted the white kid, walk out of the bush on the far left and lined him up at ~200yrds and took him cleanly in the neck, I was handed the rifle and lined up the nanny who was with the kid, I put the crosshairs on it and quickly let out a shot. All the while our guide was frantically trying to get us onto two nannys only 25yrds in front of us to the left that we had failed to see! we handed him the rifle and he got his two.
I reckon those 4 goats fell in less than 5 minutes, but its hard to know! Our guide and I then worked our way scrambling up to get all the animals together for a photo, meanwhile the missus took the rifle and headed off ahead of and to the right of us, I found the nanny I had shot, and what a feeling! sure its no trophy but its still my first

. It had died instantly with a large wound to its spine at the base of its neck. While I was rolling the carcass down the hill we heard the swede boom once again, followed by an exclamation of got it! the missus had taken her second at about 100yrds, It apparently stood there just watching her as she put the crosshairs on its chest, it too fell instantly.
After photos and collecting meat I was tasked with leading us out, I tried my best to follow the game trails and ridge lines we came in on but managed more than once to lead us off the trail, if not for our guide I would have had no chance as the trails seemingly disappeared into the dense scrub, It was great to have the experienced hunter there to point out the game signs and keep us on the right path, It has certainly given me the drive to try a similar hunt over here in Australia.
