I bought the RCBS one a few years ago for $170 and its going well.

Sorry I can't comment on any other brands as this is the only one I've used.

I'm using RCBS as well.

I've got the RCBS AmmoMaster Chronograph specifically which was $200.

Does the job, no complaints.

I'm using the CED M2 Chronograph.

Wider range of velocity measurement than you could ever use and remembers 500 shots worth of data.

Another RCBS user here.

They're not fancy, but I reckon they're tough to beat for the price.

Accurate and easy, what more do you want?

Interesting...

Being clipon certainly has it's advantages. The terrain/firing line at ranges isn't always suitable for setting up a regular chronie... wrong terrain, or sloped step or whatever.

As long as it's accurate, I can see them selling a few of these...

No problems with this hanging directly under the crown then?

No interrupting gas flow and affecting accuracy or anything?

A friend of mine has one and so far no issues even on his 300WM. He did find and from what I have read on US forums it can change POI this is due to having it strapped to the barrel is effecting the barrel harmonics.

Not really an issue though when just confirming velocity though?

The condition chronograph available in 250-260 dollar. As it is important things to remember when using such chronograph is that the bayonet must be mounted just below the bore or the user could risk damaging the unit.

Anyone using the RCBS chronograph have battery life issues? I'm tossing up between that and a CED millennium 2 and all the US reviews of the RCBS are people complaining about having to switch batteries after like 20 shots and then a heap of them saying the unit just failed to turn on after a while.

I noticed a significant amount of the complaints seemed to come from people in cold climates so I dunno if that makes a difference.

Not me but I always remove the battery when not in use and always carry a safe 9v

I don't think the display unit has a auto power off which would be a good addition

Battery performance and life is impacted negatively by the cold so that would make sense.

I remove batteries for most of my stuff too when in storage.

There's always a bit of drainage leaving them in.

From what I gathered these guy's units just stopped working after not long, even with fresh batteries.

In the end I've decided on the CED Millennium 2.

It's got a few other features I like and most of the feedback I've seen is positive about it

Nah they do the 220v model for an extra $40 which would work out the same or cheaper than buying a transformer and is more convenient

Oh right, well yeah. That shouldn't be happening obviously.

Thought we were just talking about battery life.
