I think he means the "Hyphen" in the Licence Number......!!!!

In NSW the is no hyphen between the numbers in your firearms licence.

I would think means nothing other than seperate the numbers.

Hate to be a PIA but we do not have license plates or side walks, ETC., these are American terms that have sadly crept into our language, too much TV I guess.
Let's just stick with number or registration plates, footpaths and make an old fella happy.

Please disregard my rant if it offends, we are all proud Aussies and I for one mourn the loss of our language. I find myself at times saying "guys" at times

PS. Here is a link that explains other options for Victoria plates http://www.vplates.com.au/plate-styles/

wow, sorry loopal. I thought you may have gotten done goid ideas from this thread but it seem some are more concerned about the words you use than the are about getting into the spirit of your post and suggesting ideas

I understand your thinking. It would be nice to have a NUMBER PLATE related to your hobby without shelling out even more cash to your state government for custom plates.

See how I called them number plates despite the fact that this is not the correct term as clearly it contains both letters and numbers. These plate were originally only issued once you paid your road taxes, hence the term licence plate

Hopefully some other members chip in with suggestions of other possible shooting reated three letter-three number combinations

You'll notice i did post a helpful link, so not completely off topic, I wonder what the correct term is? I've only known them as number plates, try this google search https://www.google.com.au/search?q=pers ... &gws_rd=cr Vicroads seems happy enough to use the term.

I won't disturb sensitivities further. Enough said.

previously issued alphanumeric REGISTRATION plates (:D) can be reissued, it was 90 odd dollars... probably a great deal more now... these are the AXX-999, BXX:999 then C,D,E,F,N to Y, then A to current (is it B now)

else the custom plates have any available alphanum combo..... if its not on an existing vehicle, and its not 'offensive' you can have it, sky's the limit....

CLKBNG
6SHTR
44MAG

308WIN
223REM
OR
556X45
762X51 to fly under the radar....

problem though, just like the old winchester sticker across the utes rear windown, you may end up leading a certain element home to your rifles...
