How long... a PTA question

Post by Newshooter » 09 Nov 2016, 8:01 am

Ok.

So I've received my licence and have sent off my PTAs, paid for by credit card.

How long from the time the payment goes through does it take for it to show on the nsw police firearms portal?

Payment went through yesterday.

Expect around a 5-6 week wait before they show up in the mail. Status can be checked using the link below....

Something must have changed. The last PTA I got a couple / few months back took just over a week from the day the application was received at FAR, sent express mail for tracking purposes.

It normally would take 5-7 days but he's up for the 28 day waiting period being a new shooter and having just received his license.

Thanks for the answers fellas. If nothing shows on the portal by the end of the week I'll call the registry.

Brett is correct and I missed that point. New Licence, first PTA or first PTA for a Categroy will mean 28 day wait at least. Don't bother checking until this time next month.
