Hi guys,
I've been shooting with a mate for a little while on his .308.
The barrel heats up pretty quick, a dozen shots or something and it's pretty hot. I'm not much of a shot at the moment but his groups get worse with the heat and he has to give the rifle a rest.
My groups can't get much worse at the moment
Do 22's handle the same? I'm thinking of a 22 benchrest rifle for my first. Do they heat up and need down time too cool down anywhere near the same as the .308?
I know there is a lot less powder burning obviously, but don't know how much of a difference it makes from experience.
Thanks guys.
