I can only speak from my own experiences, I'm sure some of the other guys here have different experiences. I don't have access to much private land so I am mainly restricted to State Forest. I've been to plenty of state forests on the west side of Vic (yet to go east, much further drive for me) and am yet to see any evidence of pigs. I believe we have some in Vic, but nothing like the population in the rest of the country.
I have however seen plenty of sign of deer (tracks and tree rub) but am also yet to actually see one.
It'll shoot the fleas off a dog's back at five hundred yards, Tannen, and it's pointed straight at your head!

Yeah access can be a problem alright, all I can suggest is get out and ask, that's all I've ever done and it's surprising how many yes replies I've gotten when I do, I've picked up a few properties by just pulling over after seeing a farmer on a tractor or bike and striking up a conversation with them and have mentioned I shoot foxes etc and they only been too happy for me to come out and thin a few out for them, one time I pulled over to let a cocky come over a one way bridge on his bike and he pulled up and we got chatting and I told him I was headed over to his neighours to thin a few foxes out and he said come over to mine when you are ready and get stuck into em there too  that's how hard it was! :D I reckon my success rate ratio for yes or no answers would be running up around 95% I've actually stopped asking for access as it's too hard to keep em all happy now and I've been a bit slack in the last year due to health issues so will have to get back in touch with them and see if I can still come and visit.

Yep, pretty much anywhere you find deer there are pigs and I've seen a few in the state forests around central Victoria.

Thanks for that HH, I thought it was a bit unusual for them not to be there all over the place like NSW. :drinks:

My mate had a Indian fella that used to ask him to keep the boars as he liked eating them  I guess anything tastes alright when it cooked right and I'd imagine a Curry would certainly help :D :drinks:

The old man used to grow and pickle chillies. Love em.

I had a grandfather that lived in India for a while and was taught how to make proper, traditional vindaloo from scratch. He used to grind up all the spices himself, too. We weren't allowed to eat it for the couple of days, though, as it had to cook and ferment.

Thses days, I use those passage to india sachets (use 2, 1 isn't enough). They're actually pretty good.

Also dice chillies, tomato and onion, add pepper, vinegar and tobasco and let is soak in the fridge all day. Then when you serve the curry, just spoon this over the top.

That sounds bloody good mate, I use those passage of India ones too, they are very good I reckon or the Tastes of India sauces are great and have the spices attached to the sides of the packet, happy to eat both.

Are your's off crops? I reckon this one would have been ok, it didn't smell really at all but I decided to leave it there as I wasn't real sure if it would be.

Good onya. I hardly ever get cats. Saw one about two weeks ago. But the location didn't allow me to make use of the 12g. :(

LOL. I wish. At a camp in Gippsland and there were a few other campers. Black cat was seen close to camp. Actually looked like a puma. :sarcasm:
