Changing rifle of same calibre after PTA already sent (VIC)

Post by Brute » 06 Feb 2017, 8:00 am

Hi Guys,

So the sum of the story is submitted a PTA with full brand, model, chamber, everything through the local shop.

Few days late have changed my mind on the rifle I want to get.

Same calibre, bolt action, etc. Just different brand.

Young bloke at the shop wasn't sure what this meant for PTA on Friday arvo.

I paid for PTA in advance is all, doesn't cost much here but hoping it can just be a swap as it's only the brand changing?

Anyone know?

G'day Brute,
I've done this several times in the past, last time was October last year. The most important info from LRD's point of view is the calibre, as that is what they will restrict the number of Permits they will issue without requiring a written explanation of why you want more firearms in that particular calibre. Cheers

The permit does not mention brand... only Chambering....
