I went for a walk this afternoon to try to whistle up a fox or two and failed miserably. This guy broke out of the grass and made the mistake of stopping 142 m away so received a smack in the back of the head with a 117gn pill. I'm a little surprised that the neck and front shoulders aren't bruised..... Goes to show how important shot placement is........

That looks familiar. Had a Parker Hale in 22-250 with a heavy barrel on a lovely piece of walnut many many years ago. Lovely looking gun but the scope mounting holes weren't machined into the receiver straight and I had to put a set of rings on it that had lateral adjustment. Always nagged at the back of my mind and I never got comfortable with it so I sold it on.

Federal power shock in 117 grain. I haven't got to the point of reloading yet. Been thoroughly effective on everything so far.
