Went down to little river today for the Anzac Day memorial shoot. A good day was had by all. Lots of lovely old rifles to look at. We had a service before we began where 'the ode' was recited, last post played , flag raised and observed a minutes silence.
Competition was standard 3P with
10 shots prone at 300m
5 shots prone at 200m
5 shots sitting/kneeling at 200m
10 shots standing at 100m
There was also a bayonet shoot, 10 shots standing at 100m
I went ****** in the bayonet shoot with my No4 mk1. Grouped ok but all low and right.
The main event , I managed to score 2nd in A grade. Used my M39 Finnish Mosin. Got myself a nice shiny silver medal, which I have to admit I'm pretty proud of. 40 or so competitors.
My mate also managed 3rd with my Swedish Mauser so I was pretty happy with that also.
Don't do a lot of formal shooting and the medal looks really cool. Just thought I would share. These M39's really can shoot.
