Choosing iron sights help

Post by batter » 26 Mar 2014, 8:49 am

G'day,

I'm thinking about a light weight scrub gun, short range only, and plan to go with iron sights instead of optics to keep the weight down.

Short of just looking down a few and picking the one that looks best to you, is there really anything else to choosing the best iron sights for yourself?

I guess quality can't really change between a few point of metal.

Just the style and what your personal preference likes?

Thanks.

Not entirely personal preference.

Using V-Notch sights where you have to align the front and rear points at the base of the target point is quite different to a ghost ring setup where you place it in the middle.

Different sights, slightly different usage.
What is this "too many rifles" you speak of?

Different sights can offer more or less field of vision too.

Get to a store, get your eye behind some ;)
