My enquirers today came up with ,Our news on this one is that we were expecting it to come out around the SHOT Show in the USA. The Australian importer of Tikka has given us nothing in terms of a delivery date, only the usual "eventually we will see them", pricing in Australia will be "Approx $900".

$650 for a Tikka. Going to be popular I'd say.

Not when they're putting them out at these kinds of prices perhaps.

This is an interesting idea indeed; a heavy-barrelled 22lr well under 3kg (scoped). It's going to be super interesting to see how it groups; if it can rival the crossover rifles such as the la101 or the Brno Mod 2, It could be a strong contender for silly-wet shooting. And it's cheaper and lighter. I hazard to guess it'll point well (from standing) due to the light, poly stock (i.e. all the weight will be up-font, which is ideal). My only request would be a target mag; i.e. a flush, single-shot bobsled mag. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes on this.

It looks like it's more than capable. Some are seeing sub-MoA straight out of the box.

So there poses the question.
Does one wait and see what they’re like or go and buy a Lithgow LA101?

The LA101 are proven excellent rifles. Despite a few production hiccups and the occasional dud. Issues have by and large been ironed out now.

Tikka has big shoes to fill to surpass the Lithgow. At its current price point the Tikka would do well to be equal in performance.

Had the Lithgow and it could shoot good to 50mtr but was over the loading/feeding issues, I dont think Tikka would be average it should be great, and I have others and that means interchangeability.

Are there other Tikka rimfires that this is likely to have interchangeability with?

The Tikka rimfire use the same stock as the centre fire models. So if you have other Tikka T3 stocks or Chassis systems they are interchangeable.

I had a lithgow 101 with those same feeding and ejecting issues so traded it in on an Anschutz now it just feeds and ejects perfectly, I too am waiting to see just how good these tx1's are. even though they have a plastic mag I bet they feed. as said before they have a full size interchangeable stock, plus that action looks stiffer than an anschutz 54 !!!!

The Anschutz 54 action is actually not that stiff. I had one that I bought second hand that had a bubbered bedding job and if the action screws were tightened down too much. It caused problems as in the safety didn't work properly the bolt had an issue I cant remember exactly what. once I determined what it was it went back ASAP couldn't get it out the door quick enough. It didn't shoot that great either, probably why it got butchered trying to get it to shoot better.

Have another one now and it works and shoots flawlessly.
