Swarovski Z3

Was reading with interest the other post on here re: Leupold's...

I've had a number of Leupold's and still do including a VXR 2-7 which is just perfect for what its on and is really clear!

I've also got a Vortex PST 6-24 and I'm starting to think its just too much magnification for what I do.. I'm thinking of "downgrading" the magnification to a scope with a max. of 12-14..

I'm seriously considering going against my experiences with Leupold and trying something like the Swarovski Z3.. Just after opinions and experiences with the z3 and/or alternatives...of course I'll go look through a variety at my LGS but as with most posts on here, just keen to hear other peoples thoughts..

Should I stick with something like a VX3 or is it that big a step up to a Swarovski or Zeiss?

I've got a Z3 in 3-10x42 and it really is a great scope. No complaints there at all.

I actually got mine 'second hand' through a mate though. Long story short he got it and his situation changed and he wasn't going to use it so I bought it for a few hundred bucks off.

Like I said I've got the 3-10x42, which retails for about $1,100 I think.

The Leupold VX-3 3.5-10X40 is about $750.

To be honest I probably couldn't say that the Swarovski is $350 better than a VX-3.

Truth be told if I was choosing between the two and had to pay ticket price, I would probably go the Leupold.

I'm a big fan of the current Leupold stuff.

In the VX-3 they do a 4.5-14X40mm which sounds like it would do you right? They're about $750 I think?
