Reasonably priced one stop shop for consumables in Vic?

Post by KWhorenet » 18 May 2014, 5:21 pm

Any suggestions appreciated, unless it's to stfu

With regards to reloading consumables, is there a recommended reasonably priced one stop shop in Victoria that can or should I say 'will' provide bulk buys and pass on the savings?

Mainly concerned about bulk buys for 22Hornet and possibly 410 shotty reloading:

22Hornet Brass - 500 or 1000 instead of packs of 100?

Brass 410 shells - 500 instead of boxes of 20?

Lil Gun powder - 8 lb tub instead of 8x 1 lb tubs @ $62 ea?

I presume primers and projectiles should be available in 1000 packs although I may be mistaken.

An excuse to travel so shipping isn't an issue

Abela's at Thornbury will do a little discounting.

I bought a rifle and they chucked in brushes, solvent, patches. Nothing worth a fortune but a bit...

I dunno for the ammo you want specifically but if you buy a brick of factory centre fire they give 10% off (from memory? I think?)

Some discounting to be had anyway. Call and ask?

Muzio and Danny @ Abela's (Frank O'Reilly's) are good guys to speak with.

Haven't dealt with all of the guys, but have had a few duds there TBH.

Muzio and Danny are good though.

I usually try to swing a visit to Abela's too when I'm in the area.

They're usually pretty good and having things in stock, and prices are on the better side.

Clayton firearms the guys are all good, helpful. I have had some problems getting stock from them in the past though... Takes a while, if not too long and I ended up going somewhere else.

My 3 locals are Clayton Firearms, Abela's and Miall's.

TBH I haven't been to Mialls for about a year or something so things might have changed, but going in in the past half a dozen times they only ever had minimal reloading stuff.

From the looks of things I'd say rifles/transfers and gun-smithing are their bread and butter. Not much time for reloading? Unless things have changed.

Agree with AusC the guys at Clayton are all good. A few outages too when I was looking for ammo though.

I always see Danny at Abela's and get most of my stuff there as they regular have it. Have bought a few rifles from him. I usually go in once every 6 months and buy 4-5 boxes of pills to last me and get a bit of a discount.

Not VIC, but I get a lot of stuff from Magnum Sports here in NSW.

Good prices (for here anyway) and I know from other guys interstate here they order and get it shipped. The guys don't mind shipping and costs are all right.

Always happy to order stuff in for me too.
