Remington 7600 or 7615

Considering getting a Remington pump center fire.

Would like to know what people think between the 7615 (223. rem) vs 7600 in (.308)

Being in vic both are limited to 10 rounds, think the .308 ones maybe modded fn fal mags ?

seen 10 round mags for the .308 and the remington 7615 takes ar mags.

100% want ghost ring iron sights and ar style rear stock.

so just wondered what people consider better ? id imagine be very much of a muchness
really just going to be a toy, range toy/plinking...

A bolt gun is way easier to clean.

was leaning closer towards .308 over .223, more power recoil isnt really a concern, going to loose your sight picture anyway with the pump action.

I have always been disappointed in the performance of lever actions and the quality of Remingtons barrels makes it a bigger challenge.

Well, if you are sure about the Remmy, see if you can try a used one that is for sale, at a range/whatever. Otherwise IMO, it's a bit of a lottery and Good Luck

Ive got a 7600 .308 Police Patrol
Put ar butt stock on it etc and love it for close range stuff.

Hey theyre much the same so just get it in the caliber you want.
If running a full length rail get the lucky13 as its free floated

I bought a 7600 .308 for the same reason. I still think they are cool and fun but I wish i never spent the money on it. it gives me heaps of feed problems from the 4 round mag. I also have a lucky 13 10rounder, I have barely used as i don't like how far out it hangs, but I'm pretty sure its never given me trouble. A mate of mine had a 223 and hated it until he sold it.
I feel I should of gone for a browning lever 308 for something different

If you dont run the pump firmly all the way back the round won't extract. Also i've had a dodgy mag and it wouldnt feed sometimes, changed it out and that solved the problem.
Keep it clean, oiled and don't baby it when running the pump

Mine has a few tricks,
it will mostly jam the round on a weird angle as it feeds it in.
A few times I've had the round in the magazine pop up while the bolt is coming back, then get in the way of the empty thats trying to eject.
If one of my mates is going to use it, I have to put the magazine in for them as it has to go in a certain way otherwise the bolt will miss the 1st round.

I spoke to a bloke once who loves them and said the magazine is the cause of all my problems. But I'm just not willing to spend more money on it.

Its still good for a bit of fun but I only use it when muckin around shooting targets at home. I just don't trust it so I never take it with me when working, which makes it kind of useless as I bought it with the intention of using it for pigs.
