Hey Andy I found this on the customs website. I actually didnt think you needed a form to import brass alone but heres what it says.

To import general purpose ammunition and components into
Australia, the police certification will be in the form of a
B709A
Importation of Firearms – Police Confirmation and Certification
Form
(B709A Form)

maybe someone here has done it and can help you out better than me mate :)

I knew you had to fill out the form here!

I just wondered if getting it out of UK and NZ was as much of a pain as the US?

The problem with getting it from the US is more them than us.

The US ITAR restrictions is what stops them exporting it to you.

It's not Australian Customs stopping you from receiving it.

Wish someone over there would look at that again...

"International Traffic in Arms Regulations". Not sure how they manage to lump in empty brass with that.

Same for stocks.

Can export/import a baseball bat, can't do the same for a wooden stock.

There are no restrictions on exporting brass from either of those countries as far as I know.

TBH I didn't do any of the leg work on this but a mate of mine has shipped stuff from NZ there.

AFAIK he just did customs stuff on our end. No mention of anything else. And he's a bit of a winger so I reckon I'd have heard about it

FWIW, there is no problem getting brass out of Canada either (except thier postal charges!) provided you have your B709 ready at this end :)
