I was watching some podcast last night and old mate was saying this crisis is making everyone on the political scale happy to some degree.

Back in the late 1990s my dad had a side business building computers and consulting with local companies and setting up networks. He got a call from a company that custom designed and built farm machinery. They couldn't figure out why their computers and network had become so slow. Dad goes over there to investigate, invited me to go with him and he quickly figured out what was going on. Hackers from China were all up in everything and literally from the moment a piece of farm equipment was designed, all the plans were being sent right to China over the internet.

That was my first indication for what was to come and these days Chinese industrial and business espionage is everywhere.

Back about 2014 or so the Chinese intelligence agencies broke into OPM(Office of Personnel Management) here in the USA. They handle all our security clearances and to get a clearance you have to fill out an SF-86 or SF-85 form basically detailing your whole life history. The Chinese stole it all so they know who is who in the USA government and they know people's problems and weaknesses so they can approach people and blackmail or coerce them for espionage purposes.
