I thought I had seen on the website what to do when there is no listed starting load, but I can't find anything. Maybe it's in the Handloading magazine but I haven't seen one of those for years.

I Googled it.
Vihtavuori suggest starting 15% below the max loads listed.

Alliant suggest 10%.

Thanks for the heads up gents, always happy to help out another lover of the half inch browning.

First up - Don't follow the ADI data, the COAL is wrong and you'll risk damaging the rifle or yourself. I reached out to them to correct the problem but apparently I'm not qualified to critique their data.
The M99 Barrett is a very nice rifle and I'm guessing was purchased from Magnum Sports.
If you can tell me what projectiles and primers you are using then I'm happy to get you started.

Regards
Brett

I am curious. Where in NSW can you legally shoot a 50BMG? Maybe on someones vast acreage , I just have not heard of any distinct areas for this caliber in NSW,
Andrew at Magnum seems to sell quite a few of 50BMG rifles, although they are bit to costly for my wallet. 8-)

Did some checking with a the owners of three properties I have access to and none will allow a 50BMG to be used on their land. The reasoning was that they believed that the type of game they have can be controlled by lesser calibers. I have no problem with anyone who buys one, and am probably a bit envious, but as I posted before, where the hell are you going to use it in NSW? Bloody expensive bit of kit and for what?

I think they're primarily used in long-range competition, not so much for hunting.
We can have them down here in Victoria as well.
