I’m driving to Redcliffe

Post by Blr243 » 14 Aug 2020, 7:46 am

Bugger all stock in bris because of this covid drama. Looks like I’m driving north. If anyone from bris needs something from the shop and hates driving as much as I do , let me know

I actually have a can of v belt spray to give away but I’m not sure if u are joking or not because it’s not usually a gun store thing. I have it because I was trying to isolate / identify an alternator problem but I needed to buy a new alternator.....thanks for the tip regarding the calamari maybe next time. I just saw your posts. I pretty much come straight home From the shop and mounted my new rail and holo sight onto my new rifle I collected this morning...I’m looking fwd to some winter daytime hunting pigs If I can get away from work. At times like this I wish I would only be approached by feral people because they are so easy to get rid of by telling them to bugger off. But I can’t do that to nice people I try not to spend to much time in that shop unless I recently won lotto

Big rich told me about the slick kit the other day. I tried to grab one but they said they are out of stock and that they did not get more in because the supplier had put the price up but I would have paid double because I really value a greatly improved trigger so I spose I gotta investigate it further and make it happen somehow

I was joking in the sense that you were heading in the opposite direction,,,,,,, but I really do need to make a trip into town to get some spray grip.

???? put up a wanted ad on Abused Guns for your slick kit.

Big rich , the kit said something about the mag follower and the trigger. But I could only see the trigger on brown elks site. So to get the trigger on my marlin a lot lighter and therefore more accurate is it just the brown Ellis trigger I need?

yeh mate, to get a good trigger in your marlin, the trigger is all you need . there's lots of how too's on youtube . i did mine step by step , hitting pause as i followed the instructions on my gun from the video . it's not hard , just take your time , don't rush, and don't force anything . another tip , lay everything out on a clean cloth in the order and which way they were facing as you pull it apart

the steel follower you won't need for a while cause it's only after a lot of use the factory plastic one wears . the one peice extractor is the same deal, but don't drop the factory one either . when they hit the ground, cause their a funny shaped spring , they can bounce and end up in the most unlikely places

in2anity on this forum is pretty cluey with marlins, give him a PM too i guess

They're not to bad to fit up as mentioned plenty of videos out there. Perhaps a little emery paper jebus some of the parts of the receiver on my 1895 sbl you would have swore were sharpened for a razor edge.
