Don’t you love loud mouth wankers ?

Post by TassieTiger » 26 Sep 2020, 12:16 pm

At a bbq last weekend and I was telling a few guys I hadn’t met that I was going to buy a new brake for my 300 due to recoil being more than I wanted.
This was over heard by a wanker who then processed to shoot 50bmgs without brakes, and blah blah blah...

So...Tassie thought he’d offer him a a dozen rounds of the 300 in FRONT of his mates..see how he could shoot. I emphasised the accuracy rather than the recoil being the issue.
So a date was set and mouthpiece couldn’t back out lol.
He managed 10 shots before pulling out and then over next few days sent me these...job done.

I dont own any rifles with brakes but they have been developed for a reason. I love shooting the big stuff the harder the kick the more i enjoy it. Unfortunately due to blood thinners for me at least i bruise lile the above pictures from a 243. Long gone are the days of shooting my 45-70 for 50-70 rounds and not looking like ive been kocked by a horse. But its something i wear with pride.

I saw a. Loud mouth wan at a pub one lunchtime ..some how he got into a biff with three young. Fellas that were just sitting. There. Minding their. Own business. He never got a chance to throw a. Punch. They flogged him hard , and he was knocked out the front door and not allowed. Back in. Then. The most. Perfect thing happened to him. Banned for three months. Prob very unhappy about the ban as he sat at home with his very sore black and blue face

I have absolutely no idea if there is any science at all behind this forthcoming statement but,,,,,,,

In my 55 (so far) years of shooting, I am still amazed at how often I've seen very slightly built blokes and women,,, firing fairly hefty caliber
firearms (some times for extended periods of time) and just simply take it all in their stride,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

yet ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

All too often I've seen big heavy built blokes that you would presume could handle quite a bit of recoil,,,,, pull up, and whinge about the recoil
of something moderate like a .308

Beats the hell outta me,,,,,, :unknown: :unknown:
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
And,,,,It's been proven,,,,, the most trustworthy females in my entire life were all canines.

I'm going out on a limb here. I'm not sure I've ever fired any rifle with a muzzle brake. 10 shots from a 300 Win Mag is pretty mild. I did get a headache once firing 18 x 3" steel shot out of my beretta silver pigeon field.

Oh make no mistake, this guy was set up a little...
The powder charge was a little over max, the projectile was 220gn, the table was as low as I could get it...I wouldn’t let him shoot off a rest, meaning his shoulders were more square...as his left arm rested on bench, he wasn’t allowed to wear a jacket over his shirt when shooting...oh yes...every sentence started with, “well, if you’ve shot a 50, then the 300 won’t do crap...you’ll be right.”

The reason is simple really.
Slightly built shooters tend to move back with the recoil. (roll with the punch) Big blokes don't move back as much, so the shoulder takes the big hit. (Like punching a brick wall.) Big blokes have too much inertia.

That's why off hand is easier on the the shoulder than at the bench. You move more.

Has nothing to do with it...”well, if you e shot a 50, then the 300...” etc. it was his mouth that needed fixing, he wasn’t being scored on “form”.

I'm only asking because I've fired plenty of big guns but there are many things to consider. Weight and stock fit being the most obvious. Other enhancements such as muzzle breaks, kickstops, recoil pads and pasti pads come secondary.

Anyway for your amusement, a 50 BMG being fired in Victoria. https://youtu.be/7lQsKEaGryQ

My old man had a Beretta shot gun with a 30 something inch barrel ,so me and my cousin all of 9yr old took it down the creek for a shot while he was at work, we were thinking he wouldn't miss 4 cartridges as he had heaps, so down we go, brought back 3 cartridges, put them away with the gun and never touched it again, ''Jesus BOOT'' my cousin cried all the way home , i chickened out at the time but fired it a few years later and yes it kicked.

Hahaha, when I was about 10ish I was given the opportunity to shoot a 12g but I just settled for the .410. My g'pa got drunk and decided to fire the 12g one handed while holding onto the ute XD he could barely walk on a good day, it nearly threw him in a 360 turn while he went to ground hahaha

Not just showing my age , And if I mention that I only lasted two weeks in the army I’m showing how soft I am too. All that yelling and pushups and diving in the dirt landing on my elbows was not for me

Well I am certain this country in the state it is today is not what the fallen had envisaged. Nevertheless I don’t believe this country has forgotten or “sh1t on their sacrifices”, well not my generation anyway. Some of these other spoiled little self entitled turds maybe.
Anyhow.....we digress.
