Spotting Bunnies

The kids and I went out last night for a quick run around with the HID spotlight for some bunnies. We only shot 3 (I shot 2 and the eldest  Daughter nailed her 2nd bunnie ever (2 shots 2 bunnies so far for her - both head shots) chip of the ol block that one. :rofl:

Weapon of choice was the Daughters little Savage 22/Boyds combo with the awesome Tasco 6x fixed scope shooting CCI Standards (hence the head shots).

All were skinned and gutted and cut up ready for eating

Cheers fella's - the kids really enjoy getting out spotlighting bunnies, the youngest one is hanging to get her permit (already knows the day and date after her birthday that it can happen)

That was the eldest Daughters 2nd time shooting bunnies and so far its 2 shots for 2 bunnies and both headshots so she's coming along nicely, its great watching them in action with the light too, they were using it to steer the rabbits away from neighbouring properties etc, so the've been paying attention to what I've been showing them which is good.

Hopefully we will get back out tonight and get a few more for them.

Maybe you should guy a big recoil cartridge so they're not good at it, ha ha.

That's it in a nut shell mate, I want them to know how to survive in case this crazy world goes pear shaped, they haven't done the gutting side of it yet but they have helped with the skinning side of it, they know what's involved and that whilst not the most pleasant thing to do its necessary if you want to eat.

Not quite mate but she will have her permit by the end of the year so she will be happy as when it happens I can tell you! and I don't think it will be long at all before they are better than me

She's already using the 12g to bust clays! - she's only had a couple of shots but I'm sure she will have another go as soon as she can.

We went out again tonight for a quick run around and managed to bag another 2 - seen around 7 but because of the proximity of the houses to bunnies etc it wasn't possible to take shots at most of em.

I put the Brno Mod 2 into action tonight, its wearing a Jap 4x Tasco and we were using Win 40gn Power Points.

Better to know it and not need it than the other way around.

Spot on Broom, I'd rather they have the option to use these skills when needed rather than have to wait for someone to hopefully help em out because they don't.

Depending on Ammo they are good, 5c to 10c pieces if I pull the finger out and really try, I mainly shoot Power Points in this one as they shoot well and kill well (haven't really tried a lot of others to be honest as they do the job.

Anything shoot better? Even if it was more expensive.

Not a prob mate, really it will be a matter of testing diff brands/weight projies and seeing what that particular firearm will like best. If the trigger spring hasn't been swapped out (they can be a tad heavy/creepy in the trigger) but easy to do with a spring kit (Lowey) which costs around $20 and is a easy 10min job if that.
