The missus owes be a batch of pies for some work around the house.

Had my fill of mince beef though I tell you now.

Who's got some good pie ideas to pass on to the cook?

Take your died beef , soak it in stout over night, finely chopped onion, and any other pie filings you want like kidney, carrot , potato.... Cook in a slow cooker with stock, gravy and some flower to thicken..... Put it in your favorite pastery and bake until browned

I agree with OOW, chunky beef slow cooked with veges and a good pastry is a winner. Try using beef shin or cheek, all that sinew breaks down during slow cooking and gives the most delicious meaty flavour.

Lamb and rosemary is a good combo.

What about getting some kangaroo leg or tail and doing another slow cooker special?

Sounds a bit poncey but a local place does a chicken and white wine pie which is great.

I love the Indian version, vegetable samosas.

No meat, but heaps of spices. Hearty veg. Probably terrible for you after they're fried but whatever

The only camels down south are in the zoo..... I dare say they'd have something to say about me lining one up with the rifle.....

The Missers sources her game meats from a local specialty butcher who sells everything from possum (yep truely) to Croc..

I'd love to go to WA or NT and roll a few lumpy backed horsey cows....

yeah almost the same but the meat seems to have a bit more of a game taste

We have a couple of breeds of wallaby here in NZ, not sure if they're the same as your Aussie ones.

I'll have to find a local butcher who'll do 'em for me.
