yeah I've seen cops at firing ranges having a tinker, Lets just say if I were in a place where they were shooting at bad guys i'd be ducking for cover more than the bad guys were.

I know they have a very poor track record with shooting bystanders, failing to humanly destroy an animal with multiple shots and poor form at the range. But im still going with a crack shot cop who values others lives above his own. Come on guys, cut em some slack, there's some firearm enthusiasts amongst them.
This cop nailed the nutter in the leg and saved atleast one life.

Yeh I'm for the cops on this one. Sounds like they did a bloody good job. Glad only one guy was hurt, and a non fatal shot to the leg, that's impressive. I've heard the stories of cops being a crap shot on the range... But I've seen some pretty bad shots who weren't cops too, and they had no one pointing a gun back at them to raise their stress levels!

They would be lucky to upholster their guns once in their entire career ......it makes sense that most of their training relates to most of their activities in a proportionate manner. Talking carefully to idiots to calM them down , having a bit of a wrestle occasionally , And throwing drunks in the back of their van ...this, and a whole bunch of variable duties likely don’t require a high level of proficiency with a gun. Shall we all spend another 100 million tax payer dollars next year to make sure they can all shoot the head off a dragonfly at 20 m when most will never need to pull they gun out ? There are special department s within our police force that need to be experts with guns ...leave it to them ........general everyday cops just need handguns in case some nutter charges at them with an axe

Issue full auto shotguns with drum magazines and mini guns attached to patrol cars. With generous bounties on known scumbags for incentives.
