Nominally the 44-40 is 246 or 429 the 44 mag is 429 the 45LC is 451 and the 45-70 is 457.
So with a bit of sizing

i suppose for consistancy swaging down a slightly oversize boolit down to the correct size would be desirable

That being,still i never sized mine,and I was getting very good groups with my old marlin cowboy and iron sights
