Firearm & ammo transport stopped.

From what I can work out from today there are no companies transporting ammo, powder or firearms within the country. Hope I'm wrong.

I was told this week by a dealer that NIOA has organised a courier so their orders are unaffected. I didn't make an ammo order as there is no stock of what I'm chasing so I can't say if he was correct.

Doesn't Australia post do guns? In Queensland you can get guns sent to your home from anywhere inside Queensland via registered post.

Yes, but they do have a length limit. I think Qld is the only state that allows delivery to private addresses though?

Just a another version of corporate "bullying".

And don't forget, one person made this decision, the boss.

I was at my LGS yesterday,, and while I was there a courier woman brought in three parcels.
One of which was a rifle or shottie.
So someone is transporting stuff.
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
And,,,,It's been proven,,,,, the most loving, loyal, and trustworthy females in my entire life were all canines.
Whilst in most cases ignorance should be excused,,,,,,, stupididty simply cannot.

Shooters Delight posted me a carbine last week, it was under 1050mm so we were able to use AusPost, but they ended up telling me they have another courier doing their transport now and it has actually worked out cheaper, so wasn't a bad thing to have to look for other options

My understanding is delivering up to yesterday. I guess we will know more in a week or so.

My bet is a company will jump in.

If not NIOA may even step in and get a DG licence.

Hi Guys
I bought a rifle in Tassie, they had to break it down because they have a size limit for sending stuff.

There are couriers picking up the slack left right and center from what I have gathered from the local. Often it is done with other runs of declarable, registrable or otherwise hazardous gear apparently because it makes those runs a bit more worthwhile.

FWIW, also no issues here with sending off guns etc in the regular mail. I tend to break down purely for safety reasons anyway, not to mention it makes the postage cheaper. Can't argue you weren't careful if the thing was disassembled for freight.

What's the latest on this? Are ammo, components and firearm deliveries still happening?
