I have applied for Cat A/B on 22nd April, went for ID check on 21st July. Lets see how long it will take for me to receive my license.
Next will be Cat H, already joined pistol club and participated in a competition last Sunday.

Going by experience. this should take around 1 month before you receive your licence.
Just take note of the email from WLB re the completion date for proof of ID check 'cause if WLB hasn't received the information by due date, your application is deemed to have been withdrawn (s14 (3) (a) of the Weapons Act 1990. .
Should you not hear from WLB a few days before cut of date, I'd suggest a email to confirm that you have reported for ID verification.
Cheers.

Haha Indeed.

Well today on the door intercom there was a police man asking about me . My wife told him that "My husband is at work and will be back in the evening," Police officer said ok, I will contact some other time. I am pretty sure it was weapons inspection (luckily I live around 1000 meters from police station :D ),

I have received my PTA in mail today and most probably I will be visiting Queensland gun exchange this weekend to check their discounted deals.

Best,

Does anyone know if you should get a email from weapons licence if you have done your 100 point ID Check?

As per my experience, they will not email you after the ID check. Your license will arrive in your email within 20 days.

Hi guys,

Pickedup Marlin XT22 VR from Queensland Gun exchange show.

Initially I have submitted PTA for different dealer. On Monday I am sending my PTA back for change of dealers name.. I will submit my range report as soon as I will talk the rifle to the range :)

Cali, I am in the same situation as you, but submitted mine about 1 month before you. It looks like there procedure has changes in the past month or so to getting your ID sighted at a local station when you begin your application. The latest advice on QLD Weapons Licence branch website says -
As at 1 July 2014, Weapons Licensing was processing the majority of on-line PTA applications (apart from a licensee’s initial PTA for which there is a mandated 28 day waiting period) within five days; and the majority of complete on-line New Licence applications within 12 weeks of receipt (including the 28 day mandated waiting period).

See this link for the full document around timeframes dated 01/07/2014 - http://www.police.qld.gov.au/Resources/Internet/programs/weaponsLicensing/documents/QPSLicensingUpdate.doc

So I guess its 3 months give or take.....
