thanks very much for the advice , especially about projectiles blade and bill . right or wrong, after talking to , and reading about 25-06 users , i'm thinking a 270 win could be used in the same manner . when you check the ballistic co-efficients , 270 hornady 130sst - 460, 270 nosler 130 bt -433, their not bad . better than most projectiles used in a 25-06 which is a very flat ,accurate long range hunting caliber
i've looked at trajectory data on chuck hawks and nathan foster's websites , 243 with 95's , 25-06 with 100's and 270 win with 130's all shoot real flat, with those weights being the "sweet spot" for flatest shooting . i know there's flatter shooting calibers than 270 , but i already am set up for it and the 270 is less overbore than the 25-06 , 243 , 257 weatherby or 7 rem mag , ect.
BLR , keep the feedback coming on your lighter 270 loads . how's accuracy out of your sauer sporter at distance ?
