A nation at peace is being invaded by a foreign country. (Maybe you missed that part)
Resistance far greater than anticipated.
Hmm where were you when US/UK invaded Iraq, or even Afghanistan. Where were you when America yet again threatened and forced a democratically elected government in Pakistan.
Or is that because they are not white skinned with blue eyes..... as many media reporters said... how dare Russia invade a country like Ukraine they are white and civilised
Why the F do you keep raising Afghanistan? Has SFA to do with Ukraine.
You either can't read, don't understand.... or choose to ignore. Of the three the third is the most deplorable.
Let me try and explain for you.
So a country invades another country to install their puppet government. Kills tens of thousands if not millions of people in the process. Using excuses which are likely to be found to be untrue in the future.
You can replace the two countries with
America -> Iraq
America ->Afghanistan
Russia -> Ukraine

Different time and place.
This is about Russia and Ukraine .
mchughcb wrote:Duh, 43 billion into Ukraine by the USA not even a declaration of war.
60 billion for gulf war.
Not about USA? Ffs this is a proxy war in a country with a superpower.
mchughcb wrote:Well now they are saying the Ukrainians are losing 600-1000 dead per day due to artillery in the donbass. They won't sustain those loses for long.

Spot on. The USA are bleeding with inflation coming off covid with a border crisis of its own. Zelensky needs the USA to pay $6B per month to fund his war effort.
USA are not in a good way to mount a serious proxy war on anyone, let alone a superpower on their doorstep.
Putin has time and resources. The rest of europe doesn't. They pull the pin on support and Biden gets smashed in the mid terms this could all change very quickly.

Mate it's simple.
No American lives lost.
They spend 50 billion the return on investment for their companies is 10 fold right now. But when eventually the war finishes who do you think will go into Ukraine to help it rebuild. Who will be running security on their infrastructure. Who will buy out Ukrainian land. And best of all Ukraine will need to pay back the 50 billion with interest or pay for an American military base and all the soldiers stationed there to save it from Russia
cz515 wrote:Haha that's probably true.
Everytime i see someone complain about high prices of fuel and inflation, i do go umm have you considered that our governments are responsible for part of it by directly supporting the war.
Plus the money printing of the US etc etc etc
cz515 wrote:Wannaroo what do you think is causing the inflation, higher "gas/ fuel" prices, that also effects transport costs for everything.
Do you want to guess one of the main reasons for increase in oil price.... yep the embargo on Russia as i said earlier it was the 2nd biggest producer of oil after Saudi Arabia. And was never inder control of the opec cartel

Not our governments.
There's barely any countries that support the war with Ukraine.
Cuba, Venezuela.. that's about it really.
No one else sees any justification for it.

Neutrality means they can't offer support.
Which Is what putler wants and direly needs from them.
India is a military ally.
China could get around all sanctions.
It's known as proactive neutrality
